Thanksgiving 2014

Thanksgiving this year was held at our house, and it was wonderful to not have to travel at all!  Since all of my siblings are now in Pocatello, every single one of us was there! I can't remember the last time that happened. It was delicious and we all have had leftovers for days!

This Thanksgiving week has been a little rough, as I have been sick with just about everything you can get starting with a UTI, then a stomach bug, and ending with a sinus infection.  Those are all not fun, but they are really not fun when you are 8 months pregnant and you don't get a break in between them! On top of that, I noticed water coming out from one of our walls in the basement, which after we tore the wall down we discovered that it was coming from the drain pipe of our kitchen sink! We were lucky enough to get a plumber over to fix it {it was the day before Thanksgiving!} so we could use our kitchen sink and dishwasher on Thanksgiving day.  On Thanksgiving night, Brandon happened to check on our water heater and discovered that the whole room was one big puddle!  So we will also need to be getting a new one of those.  Then on Brandon's way home from work on Friday, he noticed that it was really hard to turn the steering wheel on the grand am, meaning that we were having some kind of a problem with the power steering fluid.

With everything that has/is going wrong, we still have so much to be thankful for.  I am so thankful that  Brandon had the week off and was able to take care of the boys and everything else while I laid in bed trying to feel better.  I am thankful for medicine and antibiotics. I am thankful that the wall we had to tear down to fix our plumbing problem was in the basement, where we are planning on tearing down all the walls anyways.   I am thankful that we have a home warranty that will be replacing the water heater for us, and that the water damage that has been done because of it was in the basement that we are planning to redo anyways.  And I am thankful that Brandon works with a guy who used to be a mechanic who was able to tell us that it was going to be a pretty easy and cheap do it yourself fix on the grand am.  Things could have been a lot worse!

And of course there are all the things that we are always thankful for, like our family and friends, our home {that will hopefully stop falling apart :) }, Brandon's job, 3 beautiful babies, and so much more.  There is so much to be thankful for. We are blessed.
