July 24th

Since Pocatello no longer has its Pioneer Day Parade, we made the trip to American Falls to go to their parade.  And we were not disappointed! Small towns definitely have some of the best parades!

Since my brother works in American Falls, he knows just about all the police officers there.  Paxton was so excited when Ryan took him to actually meet a real live policeman, although it made him a little nervous too!

We had the best seats in the whole town I think, and since Paxton and Colton were the only kids in the whole area we took up, they had no competition for candy!

Colton was basically terrified of the whole parade, but he did okay as long as Grandpa never set him down!

Paxton quickly figured out that if he got out in the street a little bit and gave everyone a nice wave, then they would throw more candy!

Colton got in on the waving, but only from Grandpa's lap.

I think by  the time the parade was over Paxton had more candy than he knew what to do with.  We spent some time hanging out in a nearby park, then headed home for naps.  It was definitely a successful trip!
