Brandon has a dream of someday owning a ranch, a buffalo ranch to be exact. He has a plan to involve our whole family in it. Everyone would have their own specific job, such as the home school teacher, ranch nurse, ranch lawyer, ranch cook, etc. He even has a name for it, Thunder Beast Ranch, and a motto, "Feel The Thunder". Everyone had a great time talking, joking, and laughing about it {I think secretly some of them actually want to do it}. Needless to say, it most likely will not be happening, but we all enjoy joking about it.
Our new home has a huge back, front, and side yard, and it is surrounded by a couple acres of fields. It feels a little bit like we are living in the country, but we are actually in the city. Being as this house is probably as close as we are going to ever get to Brandon's dream of being ranchers, my dad had this sign made and hung up on the front of our house the day we moved in!
Our home is often referred to as Thunder Beast Ranch, or just The Ranch, now. We kinda LOVE it!
Even though it is not a real ranch, I do think our house is pretty close to Brandon's dream home. It is pretty old, like 1960's old, and it needs quite a bit of work. Brandon loves working on stuff and having projects though, so it is kinda perfect. And remember how the yard is humongous? Well Brandon loves that too. And he really loves his new toy we had to get to mow the huge lawn!
{Paxton is a big fan of the "tractor" too}
As my mom said while we were watching Brandon work on his "tractor", "Brandon has always been a happy guy, but I don't think I've ever seen him THIS happy!" And she's right, Brandon is one happy man when he is working on The Ranch.
{OK, so basically everyone but Colton loves the "tractor"}
Since we have so much yard, we have a lot of yard work to go along with it. And these two are my little helpers. They have no problem getting dirty.
And as for Colton, a trip outside is never complete without taste testing the mud.
