One Year Old

Didn't I just barely have this baby girl?!  I can't believe it has already been an entire year since the day she was born!  She is still just the sweetest little girl ever.  She is getting better and better at walking.   She still only really says "Mama, Dada, and bu-bye," but my dad swears she can also say grandpa "Papa".  Even though you can't understand much that she is saying, she has really started babbling.

Lexington is quite the little mover now.  She walks just about anywhere she can, and has figured out how to do stairs, or at least how to climb up them.  She has always has her little pointer finger out and loves waving and clapping.  She also knows that every time she sees Grandpa Great to stick her little finger out so that they can play "dort".

Lexington still loves her brothers very much, and now that she can walk she can keep up with them a little better!  For the past few weeks, we have been going to Story Time and Mommy and Me at the library.  Lexington LOVES it!  She screams and claps and laughs the whole time, and is a much better listener when the books are being read than her big brother Colton.

Lexington is still a great eater, and often out-eats both of her big brothers.  There really isn't anything that we eat now that she doesn't.  She still gags every time she is given anything banana, whether it is the actual fruit or just the flavor.  That is really the only thing we have found that she doesn't seem to like.  She now has 6 teeth, four on top and two on bottom, which has really seemed to help with her eating!  She also loves nursing still, and I am slowly trying to get her down to just bedtime and nap time feedings.

I think we are going to have another animal lover.  She gets so excited when she sees any animal, but especially dogs.  Poor Duke has had to learn to stay away since she tends to get a little too rough with him, but Lucy doesn't seem to mind {must be all that wrestling/tackling that Colton does}.

Lexington is usually very content, unless she needs food or has a dirty diaper.  She is really getting into toys, and will entertain herself for hours if there are enough of them around.  Her favorites are probably  her little dolly, any of her little people, and her dirty clothes basket.

Lexington is such a joy to be around and we can't help but smile whenever we look at her.  This past year has been so fun watching her grow and learn.  We love you Lexi Lou and are so glad that you are part of our family!
