Quigley

One week ago today, we had to say goodbye to our Quigley.  She had stopped eating and had lost over 10 pounds in only a couple weeks.  She also was having major difficulties breathing.  After visiting the vet, some hardcore meds, and a week of watching her loose more weight and get even more sick, we had to put her to sleep.

It has been a pretty sad week at the Ranch since then.  It is just not the same when we come home and she isn't waiting for us at the gate, or when you can go outside without getting slimed.

She really was the perfect dog for our family, and has already been missed so much!

We will always remember her with a smile though, as we think of how gentle and good she was with our kids, how she once ate a hole through our cedar fence big enough for her to escape through, how she destroyed just about anything we put in our backyard {trees, lights, a garden fence, etc.}, how all our neighbor kids adored her, how she dragged one of said kids for at least 50 ft before he was able to let go of the leash, how she may have been the only 100+ lb dog that would let chickens roost on her while she slept, how she could fling her slobber directly on to your clean pants no matter how much you tried to dodge it, how she was one of our babies before we actually had babies, and for so many more reasons.

"People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?  Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

{Why Dogs Don't Live As Long As People - according to a 6 year old}

We sure wish you could have stayed a little longer, Quig. We love you!
