Our sweet little Lexington turned one month old this past week. I'm pretty sure that with each kid the time goes by even faster! I am so sad that she is leaving the newborn stage behind, but I am so excited for her to grow and for all the firsts that will come with it! We decided on the name Lexington, thinking that we would probably call her Lexi, however, that hasn't happened too much! It will be interesting to see if that changes as she gets older.
Lexington is a great baby! She has really gotten the hang of nursing, and is on a pretty good schedule. She is also a pretty amazing sleeper. I usually feed her about 10:30ish, right before bed, and she will always sleep until at least 2:30, and every couple of nights she decides to go until about 5:00! It is amazing the difference getting some sleep makes, as we were terrified that she would be like Colton, who woke up every 2 hours for the first year {and some change} of his life. We have been very pleasantly surprised!
She is definitely growing, and had gained a pound and one inch at her 2 week appointment. We have noticed that she is staying awake a lot more throughout the day, and loves to be wherever the action is. We have been able to get her to smile for the past few days now, and I can't wait until it is a more regular occurrence!
I have loved being able to dress her up and use headbands and bows and bracelets! Dressing little boys is fun, but it is definitely an exciting change!
I am really crossing my fingers that Lexington will keep her hair! It is reminding me a lot of Paxton's hair, and he never lost his, so I hope she will be following his lead. It has definitely been growing since she was born, and you can see that down by the roots it is looking blondish {just like Paxton's looked!} However, I do believe that she will be getting a bald spot where she rubs the back of her head {I found a ton of little hairs on her sheet today :( }
Lexington has been such a joy to have in our family. I can hardly remember what we did without her, and wouldn't want it any other way. We love you Lexington Kay!
