A Couple of Exciting Weeks

We like to keep things exciting over here at the Ranch.  Things were getting a little boring after we had our sweet Lexington, so Brandon decided to go have some surgery!  Exactly one week from the day we had Lexington, he started complaining that he had a side/stomach ache right before he went to work.  The pain never went away, so he went and saw the P.A. that is at Simplot.  The P.A. was pretty sure that it was appendicitis.  So Brandon decided to finish working his shift.  When he got home he still wasn't feeling any better and headed to the hospital where they confirmed that it was indeed appendicitis and that he would be having surgery that night.  

Thank goodness we have family in town.  My brother was able to drive Brandon to the hospital, my sister-in-law {who works at the hospital} was able to stay with Brandon there until I could make it up there, my dad, brother, and brother-in-law were able to give Brandon a blessing, and my parents came and watched all the kids so I could go spend a couple of hours at the hospital while Brandon was waiting to go into surgery.   Everything went well, and Brandon was able to come home the next afternoon {thanks to my grandpa going and picking him up}.  

The next week, we bought a car.  We had thought that the Jeep would easily fit all three of our car seats, but we were wrong.  If we wanted to have everything fit, we would have to lift Lexington's car seat over one of the boy's car seats every time we went anywhere.  It was quite inconvenient.  And we didn't realize it until about 2 days before we had Lexington.  So Brandon was on the hunt for something bigger ever since then.  After looking at every car available in southeast Idaho, Brandon found this.....   

...... and then we bought it!  I was a little nervous about driving such a big vehicle, but after taking a test drive I was in love.  It is amazing how much more space we have now and how easy it is to get the kids in and out.  Totally worth it. 

The past few weeks have definitely made us thankful for family, hospitals, health insurance, and cars! Hopefully now we'll be able to have a few weeks with a little less excitement!
