December....So Far

December is flying by and I can't believe that it is almost Christmas Day {and just over 4 weeks until this baby is due}!  We have had a pretty exciting month, with lots of Christmas parties and programs and all kinds of fun family activities!

We started out December with my parent's annual Christmas Kickoff.  This is actually only the second year that they have done this tradition, but I sure hope it is here to stay!  All the grandkids get matching pajamas, and then at least 20 minutes are spent trying to get a decent picture of the three of them.  This was the best I got!  They are all just so cute I guess it doesn't really matter if they wont all smile together or look at the camera.  My parents also give each family one or two Christmas books, which we have read every single night since then.  The kickoff is always fun and always gets everyone so excited for the month ahead.

Our ward had a Christmas party at the beginning of the month, and our sweet little Paxton was asked to be a sheep for the nativity.  So I got to work and this is what I came up with for his costume!  It was quite adorable if I do say so myself.  It was also quite a hit with all the other primary kids.  I'm pretty sure every single one of them came up and petted him like he was a real sheep!

Paxton is actually a very good performer.  Since he wasn't given any lines {obviously, he was a sheep:) }, he stood on the stage and "baaa'ed" during the whole performance.  He also "baaa'ed" along when everyone sang "Silent Night."

Paxton also had a preschool Christmas program, where he showed once again that he loves performing and making people laugh.  His class sang a few songs, and in between each he would yell "HI MOM AND DAD!" while waving.  I think he did it about 5 times, and it was quite adorable.

Paxton's class also sang a song or two with the whole daycare group, and at the end of the last song the lights in the gym were turned on and all the kids saw Santa walking in from the back!  They were all soooo excited and surprised.  It too was adorable!  Brandon was even able to catch a picture of Paxton when he realized Santa had come to his program!

Although he did not get to perform, Colton was very excited to see Santa too, and started waving and yelling "HI SANTA!"  He also hopped right off grandmas lap and ran to see him once he sat down.

He was so happy and was the very first kid to make it over to Santa.  We can't quite figure out why or how he likes Santa so much, but he literally pushes other children out of the way and has run to Santa every time we have seen him  {it has to be at least like 5 times by now!}  The real reason we can't figure out why Colton is so friendly with him is that Colton hardly likes anyone! And even if you are one of his people, it kinda depends on the day whether or not he is going to be friendly!  Santa better feel pretty special!

Paxton also likes to see Santa, but he's just not quite as enthusiastic as his brother about it.  He has been asking Santa for a really fast toy motorcycle, so I sure hope he gets one :)

A few nights ago, my parents told everyone to make sure that their Friday night was open because they had something special planned.  That evening, they came and picked us up in a 15 passenger van and took us to see the best Christmas lights in Pocatello and Chubbuck.  Then we headed up to their house for some italian sodas.  It was a ton of fun!

Christmastime truly is the most wonderful time of the year.  We have had so much fun doing all the Christmas activities such as Santa and presents, and also hearing our sweet boys talk about Baby Jesus. Paxton chooses the nativity Christmas book every night to read as a family.  Hopefully with all the fun parties and presents, our sweet boys will always remember the real reason we celebrate Christmas.
