My sweet grandma passed away on Independence day. It was a sad day, but we know that she is much happier where she is now. She suffered from dementia, and was having a very hard time the past few months. I will always remember her funny little comments and the giggle that would always follow them. She was such a lady and always was wearing lipstick and clip on earrings. She always made sure to tell you she loved you, usually more than once in the same conversation. And she always made sure to tell me how much she loved my sweet babies and how much she wished she was there to hold them.
My grandparents have a marriage that I hope to model my own after. They were always together, and always holding hands. My grandpa took care of my grandma the whole time she was sick all by himself. He has only just barely started telling us how hard things were. I know it was a huge sacrifice for him, but he wanted to do it because he loved her so much. What an example of love.
This is probably my very most favorite picture of my grandparents. They are just too cute.
With the sad news of my grandma's passing, we still wanted to make sure our boys had a fun Fourth of July to remember. We had a few small fireworks of our own the night before, which Pax may have liked even more than the big ones the city did.
Brandon had to work during the day of the 4th, so I took the boys to the Middleton Parade. Thankfully we were with our good friends who helped control Paxton while I tried to keep Colton cool and out of the sun. It was hot hot hot! But I'm pretty sure Paxton loved the parade (it was his first!) and all the candy he got.
Here's my sweet boys in their Independence Day outfits!
That evening when Brandon got home we had a small little BBQ and then rode our bikes over to the school where Middleton shoots off its fireworks. Now its definitely not The Biggest Show In Idaho, but it is definitely fun to have room to spread out and see all of our neighbors and friends there.
Colton LOVED the fireworks and wouldn't take his eyes off of them. Paxton liked them, but he was still pretty interested in playing with friends.
Although it was sad, it was still a good day. We're so thankful for this beautiful country we live in, for the freedoms we have, and for the knowledge that families are forever.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma. She was such a sweet lady.
