It is finished! I can now say that the nursery is done {as of yesterday} and am now free to have this baby whenever....the sooner the better :) It has certainly been a lot of work since I was far more crafty than I ever was with the boys' nursery {which I blame on not knowing about Pinterest until after I did their nursery}, but I can't even explain how fun it is to be decorating for a little girl! Brandon even got pretty into it, and I can tell she already has him wrapped around her little finger.
This is what we started with back when we moved in. It doesn't look super gross, but believe me....it was! The carpet had to have been like 50 years old, and probably not cleaned for at least 15 of them! Or at least thats what it looked like. So the carpet {and those curtains!} were the first thing to go.
Leaving us with this.
Which was then transformed into this!!!
I brought up the idea of using a little chandelier, but Brandon ran with it. The chandelier was one thing that he felt our little babe definitely needed. And I must say, I LOVE IT!
An idea I had that Brandon was definitely not thrilled about, was refinishing our crib and dresser from a deep mahogany to white. It was kind of a pain to do {and let's be honest, Brandon did about 90% of it} but I think we can both admit that it looks just perfect now! We also made her name sign, which you can't see very well in this picture, but her name is written in white glitter {one of those girlie things that I have never been able to do before!}
Here is the dresser that we refinished {much easier than the crib!}, the mirror Brandon made, and the changing pad I made.
One of my other favorite parts of Lexington's room is her mobile! I saw something similar on Pinterest and knew it was just right. It took quite a bit longer than I planned on, but turned out exactly how I had hoped!
I could {and already have} sat in Lexington's room for hours! It is just so calm and peaceful and pretty and everything a nursery should be for a sweet baby girl. Now if only she would hurry up and get here :)
